Starring the talented actress Alia Bhatt, ‘Highway’, directed by Imtiaz Ali was a film on Stockholm syndrome. Through the personal stories of child abuse narrated by a kidnapper (Randeep Hooda) and his hostage (Alia Bhatt) the two bond over while sharing sexual and physical trauma. Alia portrayed the best example of how family members lack of support increased her trauma at the hands of a respectable family member.
‘Kahaani 2’ starring Vidya Balan was a complete round up of the various faces of child abuse and atrocities faced by children due to inability of both lack of expression and support from family members.
Director Madhur Bhandarkar is known best to portray social issues through his movies. His film, ‘Page 3’ featuring Konkona Sen Sharma, Atul Kulkarni, Sandhya Mridul, Tara Sharma and Boman Irani in lead roles was the best example of a movie made on child abuse.
