Rajinikanth

The name is a synonymous with super stardom. The man (or not?) is practically a living legend down south, with millions worshiping him, and pouring milk on his humongous posters on the day his movie releases. But he wasnt always a superstar. Born on December 12, 1949 as ‘Shivaji Rao Gaikwad’ to a police constable, he worked as a bus conductor, and caught the fancy of commuters with his mannerisms.

Rajinikanth started his movie carrier in 1975 in a movie called Apoorva Raagangal, both the movie and Rajinikanth received positive critical acclaim. In the movie Moondru Mudichu, his style of flipping a cigarette, made him popular among the audience. In the 80s, Rajinikanth had solidified his superstar status with movies such as Murattu Kaalai, Andha Kanoon, Nallavanuku Nallavan.

His recent movies such as Entiran, Robot, and Sivaji has set box office registers ringing proving that Rajinikanth is the original southern superstar of India.

Rajinikanth is known to be one the most down-to-earth actors in the movie industry, to the extent that he sometimes distributes chai on his own movie sets! He is also known to reimburse producers if his movie doesn’t do well (like that’s happening). So Rajinikanth the demigod of cinema is not only a living legend but also a good soul.
